The most well known skin problem people tend to have is acne breakouts! Typically a breakout will occur on your face at the worst of times but keep in mind acne can appear elsewhere on the body, such as the back. The teen years are when acne is the worst for many people, although acne breakouts can happen at any age. Getting rid of acne can be a real challenge. Certain home remedies, however, are often effective and in this article we’ll be discussing some of these. Keep in mind, not all home remedies work for all people. You may have to try a few different remedies before you find one which ends your acne problems.
Your diet plays a major role in your skins overall health. Most people think acne remedies would be limited to products applied to the skin but this isn’t the only way to treat acne. You can also treat acne through diet. Eating a healthier diet by consuming more fresh vegetables and fruit will improve the look of your skin. What does your current diet look like? Does it consist of junk foods, fast foods, sweets, and carbs? If so, consider cutting out the junk and switch over to a more wholesome diet full of veggies and fruits. If cutting out your favorite foods isn’t possible then another way to clear up acne would be to go on a detox for at least two weeks. Drinking plenty of water is probably one of the most effective and free methods to clearing up acne blemishes. Drink at least 8 glasses of water every day! Along with water, you can also drink natural fruit juices (no sugars added) and load up on foods rich in fiber. This can go a long way to giving your skin a better appearance and clearing up acne.
Tea tree oil is another home remedy used to treat acne. Tea tree oil contains a substance called “terpinen-4”. This antimicrobial substance is used to treat several skin conditions, including acne. Tea tree oil should never been applied full strength to the skin. Instead, choose to dilute the tea tree oil at the rate of 5% tea tree oil to 95% water. Another option to diluting tea tree oil would be to add a little to your favorite skin care products you already own. You can also find tea tree oil already in products, such as facial washes. Look for these types of items at natural food stores, online, or at your local pharmacy.
Honey is another home remedy for acne that works! The antiseptic and antibacterial properties found in honey make it a powerful home remedy to get rid of acne. Honey is rich in enzymes and antioxidant’s, and it can help to heal scars as well as promote the growth of healthy tissues. Apply a honey mask or you may choose to purchase skin care products which contain honey. The only downside to using honey as an acne cure is the sticky mess. Even considering the mess, using honey as a natural home remedy for treating acne breakouts is effective and well worth the effort.
